Khipu Notes
Ascher Databook Notes:
- This is one of several khipus acquired by the Museum in 1899 with provenance Marquez. This group includes UR1106, UR1107, UR1124, AS132, and AS133. For a comparison of them, see UR1106.
- By spacing, the khipu is separated into groups that contain different numbers of pendants.
- Assuming that P20 has value 108, the knots on the main cord represent a value that is the sum of the values on the 9 pendants in the last group.
Primary Cord Notes:
AS107 is loosely tied around the wooden bar through which AS106 is threaded.
