Ascher Databook Notes:
- This is one of several khipus acquired by the Museum in 1907 with provenance Pachacamac. For a list of them, see KH0110.
- All the pendants have 4-digit values. In 2 cases, adjacent values have common divisors:
P13 = 9(699) and P14 = 5(699); P42 = 119(28) and P43 = 79(28).
This khipu was also later recorded as KH0483. The duplicate khipu KH0483 and the original KH0140 / KH0140 have been reconciled by Karen Thompson. |
