  1. This is one of several khipus acquired by the Museum in 1899 with provenance Marquez. This group includes KH00116, KH00117, KH0138, KH00142, and KH00143. For a comparison of them, see KH00116.
  2. By spacing, the khipu is separated into groups that contain different numbers of pendants.
  3. Assuming that P20 has value 108, the knots on the main cord represent a value that is the sum of the values on the 9 pendants in the last group.
